| Tonight is the night! Everyone is invited to dress in their 50’s vintage best and come on out for our first annual Spring Fling Sock Hop and Charity Service Auction. Tickets to this event have been sold in advance for $20 but are also available at the door for $25. All proceeds from this event went to Best Buddies. Doors opened at 7pm on the dot, just in time to get this party started!
The Ponte Vedra Beach Resorts was decked inside and out in full 50’s decor including an iconic checkerboard dance floor and working juke box, which was taking requests in between sets from a live band. The bar was open with a menu of themed cocktails along with its full selection of wine and spirits. Also available was a buffet of 50’s diner favorites which included chili dog bites, classic sliders, french fries and a milkshake station - complete with cherry on top. The event was headlined by local favorite Chrome 57, a live 50’s cover band who kept folks on the dance floor movin’ and groovin’ from start to finish. The band played a variety of classics, hosted themed contests and threw in a few old fashioned line dances for a bit of added fun. There were also prizes for best costume in various categories awarded at the end of the night. During an intermission in the dance party, the charity auction items were announced. Donors were recognized for their generosity and a brief introduction was given to their charity of choice. All winners were declared during this time and offered further information on how to claim their prizes. |
