FIRST wednesday IS A MONTHLY EVENT THAT is based on downtown jacksonville's first wednesday art walk. this OPENLY SHOWCASES THE AREAS LOCAL AND NATIONAL ARTISTS in downtown JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA. THIS SHOWCASE HOLDS LIVE ENTERTAINMENT AND A VARIETY OF VENDORS ALLOWING RESIDENTS TO GAIN A FRESH PERSPECTIVE AND ALTERNATIVE TASTES OF THIS PLACE THEY CALL HOME. IT ALSO WORKS AS A WONDERFUL NETWORKING PLATFORM FOR VENDORS AND ARTISTS ALIKE. THE EVENT LASTS FROM 5PM TO 9PM ON THE FIRST wednesday OF EACH MONTH, REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER. THE MAJOR SPONSOR OF THIS EVENT, is downtown vision, a non-profit organization.

Each month, Art Walk hosts dozens of artists, seeking to show and sell their works. From clothing and jewelry to photorgraphy, paintings, sculptures, and so much more, you’ll find a mix of unique, handmade items from both emerging and established artists. Performance art in the form of music, dance, spoken word, skill exhibitions, media presentations, are also included. Whether you're new to the Downtown scene, an established artist or performer, a nonprofit or even a business seeking sponsor opportunities, Art Walk is a great event in which to showcase your work.


what?
Art Walk is an immersive collaboration of artists and businesses working together to showcase Jacksonville’s local culture. It combines visual art displays with a varied schedule of live performances on each of the center’s designated stages. Also for a taste of Jacksonville flavor, there will be a sampling of food vendors from some of the city’s most popular and unique dining destinations. Residents and tourists alike can join us on the first Wednesday of each month to discover what hidden gems our city has to offer.


where?
Just footsteps from historic downtown Jacksonville, Art Walk is hosted in the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center at the heart of the city it celebrates. The layout of this event features a main stage in the grand lobby as well as two side stages in the center’s ballroom. Artists will be intermingled in the open exhibition area where attendees can browse the selection at their leisure. The center’s kitchen will serve as the hub for all food vendors with nearby seating provided for convenience. Beyond the convention center walls, many local bars and restaurants in the area are hosting live music and nightly specials for Art Walk attendees.

Anyone interested in participating in this event can contact management here to process an application. Current openings include artists, performers, food vendors, local businesses, and non-profit organizations. Even if you do not have a specific skill or art to showcase, Art Walk is also accepting applications for general volunteers who will be paired with one of our booths to lend a helping hand with the event.
